Ben suggested that we create a keyframe animatic of our whole story, as we didn’t have any updated storyboards or animatics. After creating another shorter version of Violet’s document to each keyframe we wanted to draw, we all collectively drew a storyboard, and assigned 2-3 frames to each person.

I started designing some of the assets for the stop motion section. My main focus was the carousel as it would be the center piece for majority of that section, and took inspiration from some of our saved pins on the Pinterest board. I did also make a quick sketch of the ferris wheel, but kept it relatively simple as it would just be a background prop. Violet made a quick prototype using split pins, which we could use in the final model to let it move in the background.

Clara also began on the protagonist’s model. We wanted to make a model using split pins so that we would be able to move around its limbs for movement. Our main inspiration was Lotte Reiniger’s The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926), which we were introduced to in an Introduction to Animation lecture.
WEEKEND
Clara and Evelyn went out to buy materials for the stop motion section.
