11.03.24 – studio practice exploration & testing

Today, I began working on my film. For the first section, I’m going to use traditional animation using a light box. In my draft animation from the weekend, I wanted the transition from this section be the circle jumping outside of the box into the book with the camera panning south-east. However, as I was using a rostrum to capture the footage for the paper animation, I couldn’t move the camera as freely. Instead, I tested how well it could work if I rotated it on the x-axis.

I managed to finish the paper animation and book section yesterday. Today, I tested out the next section to do with lighting.

15.03.24 – screening (absent)

I was absent for today’s workshop. What I managed to get done for today was the last clip with the white pastel and plastic sheet. There was an issue with booking yesterday, so the gap in the middle is supposed to be the lighting section that transitions from the book to charcoal.
