15.04.24 – Layout and background painting and design, colour theory, value paintings

Today’s workshop focused on backgrounds. At the end, we were given an exercise to colour one of two provided linearts using only tonal values to set lighting. I didn’t finish, but below is still an attachment of what I was going for.

17.04.24 – Mouth shapes and notes on feedback from the review point

We had review today, and the sketch above and everything else (audio, moodboard, storyboard, animatic, character turnarounds) was what I managed to present. Afterwards, we looked at mouth shapes and created our own sheets for reference for when we got to lip syncing our characters to our audio.

19.04.24 – X-sheets, and sound breakdowns

I finish my mouth sheets for today so that I could reference it for when making my x-sheets, which we went over today.

I transcribed my audio onto three x-sheets, which are shown below. I didn’t make that many notes other than timings from another animation I made. I wanted to make one more before production starts tomorrow so that I knew how I wanted to time my animation, as the storyboard I made didn’t show that. The girls are traced from the storyboard.
