Following the rotations, Out of Your Head (OOYH) launched; I grouped with Clara, Evelyn (Cheng) and Violet-Finn (Violet, Blackstaffe) as Team 1. When choosing words from the word cloud provided, we went for awaken, burst, greed, huge, tiny and uncover.

Our main one that we wanted to focus on initially was greed, as that could be an interesting one to explore and drive our main plot. In the top right, we also noted down several pieces of media that we were reminded of whilst we were brainstorming.

A suggestion from Jess was to try spending 2-3 minutes making quick notes/illustrations of story ideas for some of the keywords we chose, as we were struggling to come up with a starting base for our project.

We continued developing our story. At this point, we decided to have the setting be in an abandoned funfair, and about a man who finds a camera. When looking through the viewfinder, he sees that the funfair has become colourful/lively, and is subsequently transported into it when he snaps a photo. In the abandoned funfair, everything is black and white, and in 2D, whilst the colourful one is in 2D.

This version’s ending has the man realising colour is seeping onto his black and white body after spending time exploring. In panic, he takes another picture (the viewfinder shows the abandoned funfair again), which transports him back. We then leaves the camera and walks away, although a sliver of colour/bit of confetti leaves the camera and follows in his general direction. ^{_{(Documented by Violet as version 1)}}

We also created a shared Pinterest board.

Anika (Rahman) joins our team for this project, who began designing how the funfair could look. Both Clara and Evelyn draft a storyboard for our story before today’s workshop.

WEEKEND

We made some changes to our story, though the main ones were for our ending. Instead of the man going back to his world, he sets the camera down to interest with one of the funfair’s attractions. The camera then disappears without him noticing, suggesting that he is trapped. ^{_{(Documented by Violet as version 2)}}
